Tool cases are designed to be easily transportable. Cases are a great option for kitting that can be picked up and carried from job to job, in a truck or on a plane.
Benefits: Cases are made to be on the move. They offer organization and security for a limited number of tools. They keep items secure and rattle-free when traveling.
Challenges: They are light weight and have limited storage space.
Tool Chests
Tool chests — or top tool chests — provide robust storage but do not have wheels and often are designed for the top of a bench or cart. Custom drawer inserts and kitting are available for all tool chests.
Benefits: Tool chests offer plenty of room for organizing a large number of tools for bigger projects and in-shop storage. Heavy-duty and not easily removed from a job site by trespassers.
Challenges: Not as portable as a case.
Tool Cabinets
Tool cabinets offer robust storage with mobility. Custom drawer inserts and kitting services are available for all cabinets to reduce rattling and keep items organized and secure.

For most of our foam drawer insert or tool tray projects, we recommend closed-cell polyethylene foam for its flexibility and durability. It hangs tough through daily wear and tear and upgrades your organization game. Our popular 2-pound polyethylene foam and its perfectly snug fit greatly reduces vibration—and the racket that comes with it.
